Originally a Police Constable, Graham completed a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration at Otago University. After developing and acquiring hotels and apartments throughout New Zealand, in 1994 Graham became involved at the Peninsula Club retirement village at Whangaparoa and was later part of a consortium that purchased and operated three other Auckland villages and one in the Bay of Plenty. When these villages were sold to an Australian entity, Graham decided to develop villages with character and individuality that he felt was lacking in most New Zealand villages. Graham is currently President and the longest serving member of the Retirement Villages Association of New Zealand.
